Which hair extension method should you choose?
A practical guide for first-time wearers, stylists and salons comparing temporary and professionally applied human hair extensions.
Extensions vary by attachment method, not only by hair grade. Before choosing, consider hair density, styling goals, maintenance time, professional fitting and whether you want a removable or semi-permanent result.
Clip-ins
Clips attach removable wefts to natural hair. They can work for occasional wear or a temporary change in fullness. Remove them before sleeping and do not apply tension to fragile roots.

Thin adhesive tabs attach sections of hair in flat panels. They require professional installation, periodic repositioning and correct adhesive removal.

A weft is hair assembled into a continuous track. Sew-in or beaded-row systems attach a weft using a professional method. Construction, weight and maintenance should match the client.

Small bonded strands are placed with a professional fusion technique. They can provide detailed strand placement but require specialist installation and removal.
Explore K-tip hair →I-tips and micro-rings
Pre-tipped strands are commonly attached using small rings or beads. Ring size and correct tension matter. Maintenance should be performed by a trained stylist.

These are different formats rather than another attachment technique. A wig covers the head, a topper covers a selected area, and a ponytail piece enhances tied-up styles.
